Groundbreaking for Builders Outreach Project
On Thursday, September 7, 2006 a ground-breaking ceremony was held at the construction site of the next Builders Outreach Foundation in the Frogtown area of St. Paul. This whole house renovation will be completed by builder partner and remodeler Aulik and Associates and the Builders Outreach Foundation, the charitable arm of the BuildersAssociation of the Twin Cites (BATC) and the Greater Frogtown Community Development Corporation.
The renovated home will be completely rebuilt from the foundation up, and is expected to be completed by early 2007. The home will then be sold at or below market rate, with down-payment assistance to families that could not other wise afford home ownership.
The Builders Outreach Foundation is dedicated to helping low-income families attain the dream of home ownership. Central to the Foundation’s work has been construction homes in the Frogtown area of St. Paul. This work has helped bring new life to the community by replacing vacant lots and dilapidated housing stock with new homes, and filling them with homeowners who take pride in their residence and their neighborhood.
Aulik Companies have designed and built distinctive custom homes and restorations for over 25 years. They are a single source design/build firm consisting of architects, designers, interior designers, project managers, and carpenters. Their philosophy is to provide honest communication, strong architectural design and quality craftsmanship. They pride themselves on not being the biggest company, simply the best.
The Greater Frogtown Community Development Corporation’s mission is to take a comprehensive approach to community development by emphasizing affordable housing for low to moderate income residents and leading in economic development and community building activities that will improve the strength of the community and the image of Frogtown neighborhoods.
Watch for the project completion and/or updates in future issues.
